Hunter Hall Group Privacy Policy Statement
Hunter Hall International Limited (HHL) is an investment management company, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and has offices in both Sydney and London.
HHL is the parent company of the following entities:
- Hunter Hall Investment Management Limited (HHIML) - the Responsible Entity of four public offer Funds, the Hunter Hall Value Growth Trust (VGT), Global Ethical Trust (GET), Australian Value Trust (AVT) and Global Deep Green Trust (GDG), and investment manager of the Listed Investment Company (LIC) Hunter Hall Global Value Limited (HHV) as well as the Irish registered offshore registered UCITS (Undertakings for Collective Investments in Transferrable Securities) fund the Hunter Hall International Ethical Fund (IEF).
- Hunter Hall Superannuation Company (HHSC) – a registered Trustee and Responsible Entity for a public offer Superannuation Fund, the Hunter Hall Ethical Superannuation Fund (ESF).
- Hunter Hall International (UK) Limited (HHLUK) – a research arm registered and operating in London.
- Bennelong Administration Pty Ltd (Bennelong) – a subsidiary responsible for the provision of administration (unit registry, unit pricing, accounting, distributions, etc) for the Hunter Hall Funds, the ESF and HHV.
The above companies are collectively referred to as ‘Hunter Hall’ for the purposes of this website.
To manage and administer the products and services offered by Hunter Hall we require our investors to give us certain personal information.
Protecting the privacy of your personal information is important to us. Additionally, we are required to comply with the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
This Privacy Policy Statement is intended to help you understand how we acquire, use and safeguard your personal information.
Acquisition of Personal Information
Hunter Hall acquires your personal information, including name and address, Tax File Number (TFN), amount invested, bank account details and email address either directly from you or from your financial advisor or planner.
We recognise that the law allows you to elect not to provide your personal information however, please note that by not providing personal information, we may not be able to offer all our services to you.
Use of Personal Information
Personal information is collected, held and used for the purpose of managing your investment with Hunter Hall. In doing so we may share your information amongst the Hunter Hall entities noted above, or with external third parties, including the Share Registry, the Custodian, the Auditors and your financial advisor or planner.
The information you provide enables us to perform a number of essential functions including making distributions and redemptions, making dividend payments and sending various communications including Dividend Statements, Tax Statements and Annual Reports.
Hunter Hall also uses the information to send investors marketing materials about products and services.
Disclosure to Third Parties
In managing your investment Hunter Hall may need to disclose your personal information to external parties, including:
- BNP Paribas Fund Services Australasia Pty Ltd (BNP) - which provides custodial services to the Hunter Hall Funds, the ESFand HHV.
- Computershare Investor Services Pty Limited (Computershare) - which provides share registry services for HHL and HHV.
- Grant Thornton - Hunter Hall's auditors.
- Members of the Compliance Committee for the Hunter Hall Funds.
- Regulatory authorities as required from time to time to fulfill legal and regulatory reporting, including the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).
- External contractors for the provision of IT support, print or mail services.
- Your financial advisor or planner.
For each of the above, only information that is necessary for each situation will be disclosed. You may elect for your information not to be disclosed to your financial advisor or planner by notifying our Investor Relations Department.
Accuracy of Personal Information
Please contact our Investor Relations Department if you would like to check the personal details we have about you, or to advise us of changes.
Storage and Security
Your personal information is held by us in secure electronic systems and filing systems. We use a range of security processes to protect the confidentiality and security of personal information that we hold. Access to the information is limited to authorised personnel only.
Communications
Consistent with the Privacy Commissioner’s guidelines, we provide a facility for investors to choose not to receive marketing material from Hunter Hall. If you do not wish to receive any marketing information about Hunter Hall products or services, please advise us by telephone or in writing.
Changes to this Statement
This statement will be permanently on our website - www.hunterhall.com.au. Any changes to the statement will be reflected in the website copy. A hard copy may be obtained at any time by contacting our Investor Relations Department.
